The Episcopal Church uses the three-year Ecumenical Lectionary, which points scriptural readings for Sunday and Holy Day Eucharistic Worship. We also use a two-year lectionary for daily morning and evening prayer, which is found in the back of the Book of Common Prayer. In our tradition, the discipline of the lectionary ensures that we are open to the conversation that God is seeking to have with us rather than the repetitive conversation we prefer to have with ourselves.
